The Trustees are constantly planning to improve and preserve the Hall for the future and its current users.
The Rifle Hall needs constant refurbishment and modernisation which has been estimated to cost.c.£650,000. (The plans can be viewed here.) The Trustees have already applied to
The Big Lottery - Reaching Communities (Buildings) Fund for some of the funding, and with monies from other charities have now achieved the following :-
To sand and re-seal the main Hall floor
To modernise the toilets and to add disabled facilities.
To renew floor coverings in toilets and new large storeroom (old kitchen) and repair roof of same. The roof of the main building is constantly being repaired.
To replace the gas heaters with modern, infrared heaters
We are constantly looking for new funding and are hoping to modernise the kitchen area soon and to create a small more cosy, social space with tables and chairs in the area beside it.
There is also an urgent need to repair the back wall and to remove soil which has been causing major problems with the fabric of the building.
